I’ve always loved the color Red.  To me it is passion, anger and identity politics all rolled into one.  In it there are memories and emotions as well as my belief systems.

My work is a cross-media practice which incorporates fine art photography, installation and works of clay.

This little house is the smallest but the beginning of my series of houses made of clay.  It is part genealogy, part necessity.  Descended from Carolina sharecroppers, I now live in Florida (where the termites can't eat clay).  I have always loved the feel of the clay.  Getting my hands dirty in this way makes me feel as if I am doing honest work.

I am simultaneously working on a couple of bodies of photographs set in the rural South.  Fine Art Photography is my first love and I see myself continuing to work with it.

I hope you will enjoy this series.
